A unique and ground breaking series for BBC 3 using a  cast of puppets. Qurios was brought on board to supply titles and a range of subtle effects. Our work includes shots of exploding dogs and pigeons, electrocution, vomiting and burning.

We also supplied a number of composited shots, placing plate footage of Canary Wharf into the background of establishing shots. 

The design of this commercial was led by Chris Chatterton who devised simple 2D characters that could be translated into 3D models.

The strong design followed through to the painted background that used minimal colours to help the characters break out of the frame.

Working with our live-action partners at Dene Films Qurios supplied a series of highly technical animated sequences.

Working from CAD designs supplied by the client our team created complex 3D animation of a range of lighting products.

Qurios also supplied a DNA sequence, recreating the microscopic world in high definition. 

This commercial combines 2D techniques and 3D models to create a slick and stylish look.

Effective use of After Effects allowed 2D elements to be animated to resemble the movement of cars.

Plate footage of smoke was added to help enhance the feeling of cars racing.

Showing on BBC 1 at 9.15am on Christmas morning is Ingenious, a 1 hour special featuring over 40 effects created here at Qurios. Lime Pictures commissioned Qurios to design, build and animate a 3D dragon for their HD production. As well as a fire-breathing dragon Qurios also created animated doves and shots of a radio telescope which was composted into the background of various shots.
