Hartlepool, Teesside, December 20th, 2002 – Animation studio Qurios Entertainment today announced the expansion of its ‘virtual studio’ project with the addition of David Stoten, a Bafta winning animator and artist.
David Stoten is the latest collaborator to join Qurios Entertainments virtual studio, working on a recent next-generation games project. David’s diverse career began as a Caricaturist and Sculptor for ‘Spitting Image’, the satirical British TV show, during the eighties and early nineties.
This led to collaboration with fellow artist Tim Watts; together they directed and animated ‘The Big Story’, a short film that won a Bafta Award and was nominated for an Oscar. David has continued to work on a number of projects, including developing a feature film for Disney.
“As well as our base studio in the North-East of England we are continuing to expand our network of collaborators from around the globe, “ explained Qurios Entertainments Managing Director Niel Bushnell, “The concept of a virtual studio makes sense in the modern marketplace.
This has helped us to work with some outstanding talent, including David Stoten.”
Hartlepool, Teesside, July 4th, 2002 – Qurios Entertainment Ltd. is pleased to announce the addition of two new talents to its team.
Richard Dolan, a veteran feature film concept artist, has joined Qurios Entertainment to work on a number of exciting new projects. Richard began his professional career producing covers for the British comic 2000AD. Since then he has worked on numerous feature film projects including Peter Jackson's 'The Frighteners' and 'Pitch Black'. As well as working closely with the Lord of The Rings director at his New Zealand Company Weta Richard has also worked for Jim Hensons Creature Workshop, Uli Meyer Studios and Double Negative.
The second addition to the Qurios team is Gerard Hunt, a sculptor & artist who is well known as a garage kit builder through Mysteria Models.

Hartlepool, Teesside, May 17th, 2002 – Qurios Entertainment Ltd. was unveiled today as a new independent Animation studio, based in the North-east of England.
The company, established by the husband and wife team of Niel and Diane Bushnell, will specialise in 3D animation, FMV production, illustration, storyboarding and concept design.
Niel worked for many years in the traditional 2D animation studios of London, working on commercials, television projects and feature films. Clients included Disney, Warner Brothers, DreamWorks, New Line Cinema, Nelvana, BBC and most of the major advertising agencies.
Following this grounding Niel moved into 3D computer animation, working mainly in the world of video games, directing motion-capture, providing in-game animation and cinematic story sequences, as well as character design and story-boards.
Diane has worked for many years as a Personal assistant for various London companies. Her diverse resume has seen her working in companies specializing in fashion, chemicals, water and other commodities.
Niel and Diane are joined by an experienced team of animators & artists; together they combine the best traditions and skills of classic animation with the latest technical innovations of 3D computer generated effects.
Qurios Entertainment aims are to provide 3D animation to the highest standard as well as offering a full design, illustration and storyboarding service. Qurios Entertainment is also developing several of its own animation properties, both for film and television.
